Transparency and reliability are paramount. Unfortunately, some brokers seem to fall short, leaving their clients in distressing predicaments. Today, we shine a spotlight on EXANTE, a broker allegedly preventing a trader from withdrawing his hard-earned money. This case involves Sergei, a 39-year-old trader from Russia, who shared his ordeal with WikiFX, seeking justice and support.
Case in Details
Sergei, who has been a client of EXANTE since 2019, found himself in a desperate situation in April 2024. Faced with a family emergency—his father battling an oncological disease—Sergei needed to withdraw his funds for medical treatment. The total amount he sought to withdraw was 46,239.23 EUR. However, his attempts were met with a series of obstacles and evasions from EXANTE.
Initial Hurdles
Upon his first withdrawal request, Sergei was informed that EXANTE could not transfer funds to his bank in Russia. Determined to access his money, he attempted to transfer his stocks to another broker. However, EXANTE delayed the transfer process and ultimately informed him that such transfers were not permitted under their internal restrictions. When asked to provide these restrictions in writing, EXANTE failed to do so.
Misguided Recommendations
In a bid to find a solution, Sergei consulted his personal manager at EXANTE. He was advised to open a bank account with Mbank Kyrgyzstan, with assurances that there would be no issues in transferring money to this bank. Following this advice, Sergei spent a significant amount of money to open the account, only to have his transfer request rejected due to his citizenship.
The Hong Kong Debacle
EXANTE then suggested transferring his funds to an account in Hong Kong. Sergei complied and opened an account there. While the money was successfully transferred to the Hong Kong account, subsequent attempts to withdraw funds to his Mbank Kyrgyzstan account were futile. The funds were returned to his EXANTE account in Hong Kong, with no clear explanation or swift documentation provided.
Disappearing Funds
In a twist that adds insult to injury, Sergeis funds went missing from his EXANTE account after another transfer attempt. Despite repeated communications with his personal manager and the compliance department, Ser gei was left without access to his money for over a month. His bank confirmed that no funds had been received or requested from EXANTE.
Conclusion: A Call for Justice
WikiFX urges EXANTE to address this issue immediately, ensuring that Sergei can access his rightful funds. Sergei ‘s harrowing experience with EXANTE raises serious questions about the broker’s integrity and commitment to its clients. With 46,239.23 EUR at stake and a family emergency intensifying the urgency, the inability to withdraw his funds is both unacceptable and alarming.
Protecting the legitimate rights and interests of forex traders is always the primary concern of WikiFX. This case underscores the need for vigilance and accountability in the forex trading industry. Is EXANTE a scam? Sergeis experience certainly suggests a troubling lack of transparency and customer care. The victim contacts WikiFX and hopes for a solution. See below.
