Another foreign exchange (forex) and contracts for difference (CFD) broker will be offering a helping hand to help Australia deal with its worst bushfire season on record which has taken numerous lives and destroyed many homes – BDSwiss.
Last week, the broker published a statement on its blog that the last day of January will become its official charity day. This means, on the 31st of January 2020 the company will donate 100 per cent of the trading commissions earnt on this day to the NSW Rural Fire Services.
“The NSW RFS is the world‘s largest volunteer firefighting service; however, it’s been widely reported to be underfunded by the Australian government. BDSwiss contribution aims to support the efforts of the NFW and make an impact from the other side of the world,” the company said on its blog.
“Joining in the efforts to help raise funds for the volunteer firefighters and victims of the ongoing Australian bushfire crisis, BDSwiss contribution aims to specifically support immediate rescue and relief efforts as the unprecedented bushfires sweep through Australia, as well as long-term recovery and rebuilding of the bushfire-affected communities.”
Brokers dig deep to support Australia
As Finance Magnates previously reported, brokers have been digging deep to help support Aussies who have been affected or are fighting the bushfires – among those supporting the cause are Australian brokers Invast Global and Pepperstone.
In particular, Prime broker Invast Global has announced last week that it will donate 100 per cent of the trading commission generated on Friday the 31st of January 2020 to the NSW RFS.
Pepperstone, an Australian forex broker, has also donated to the cause. Specifically, the broker has donated $50,000 to the Victoria Country Fire Authority Bushfire Disaster Appeal and, according to a LinkedIn post by the broker‘s CEO, Tamas Szabo, earlier this week, Pepperstone will match every team member’s donation to any bushfire-related charity over the next six weeks.
Typically, the Australian bushfire season spans from January until March, the hottest months of the year. But Aussies have been plagued by bushfire after bushfire since September of 2019, affecting every single state and territory of Australia (seven states and two territories).
