Abstract:AmEx Offers is a program that offers discounts or bonus points at select stores and restaurants. Check out our ultimate guide to current offers here.
Personal Finance Insider writes about products, strategies, and tips to help you make smart decisions with your money. Business Insider may receive a commission from The Points Guy Affiliate Network, but our reporting and recommendations are always independent and objective.Almost every American Express card features a program called AmEx Offers, which gives huge discounts or bonus rewards points when you use your card for purchases at certain retailers, restaurants, or services. If you have cards like the Platinum Card® from American Express or the American Express® Gold Card, you can save hundreds of dollars each year, or earn thousands of extra points. One key to the program: Offers are specifically targeted to each person, and even each different card that person has. That means that having a few AmEx cards means you'll likely get access to a wider range of offers.Take a look below at a small sample of the offers I've had over the past few months across my AmEx cards. If you're interested in opening a new credit card to get more offers (and earn a ton of welcome points), check out our guide to the best AmEx cards. While plenty of well-known perks are attached to various AmEx cards — the AmEx Platinum Card gets you access to more than 1,200 airport lounges around the world, for instance — there are also a lot of lesser-known benefits. For example, did you know that the AmEx Gold Card offers a complimentary ShopRunner membership, which gets you free two-day shipping from hundreds of online stores? Or that many of the cards feature extended-warranty protections for your purchases? One of those benefits that's available through virtually every AmEx card, but isn't the most widely known, is AmEx Offers. The AmEx Offers program provides cardholders with discounts at various stores, restaurants, or services, or, if not a discount, then chances to earn extra points. The interesting part of the program is that each offer is specifically targeted to individual users and each user's individual cards. That means that you and I might get different offers, and I might even see different offers across my several different AmEx cards. That adds a real benefit to having multiple AmEx cards, even if you just use them to be eligible for more offers — you have a better chance of getting good ones.I've written about the AmEx Offers program before — you can see more detail here — but one of the appeals of the program is that the offers continuously change. Offers can be for national brands, but are also targeted based on your billing address — for example, I have a few offers for shops and restaurants that have a New York City location.I've check my AmEx offers fairly often, and over the past few months, I've taken note of the particularly interesting ones — take a look at them below. Keep in mind that some of may no longer be available, and some are specifically targeted. If you're interested in opening a new AmEx card — in addition to getting access to more AmEx offers, you can earn a lucrative welcome offer — take a look at our up-to-date list of best AmEx cards.Spend $5 or more at Hulu, get $5 back, up to four times.Save 15% at Starbucks, up to $5.Spend $500 or more at Hilton Hotels and Resorts in Mexico, get $100 back.Spend $125 or more at Levi's, get $25 back.Spend $300 or more at MGM Resorts, get 6,000 extra Membership Rewards points.Spend $50 or more at 1800Flowers.com, get an extra 1,500 Membership Rewards points.Spend $150 at Cole Haan, get 3,000 Membership Rewards points.Spend $225 or more at a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, get $45 back.Spend $50 or more at Wine.com, get $10 back.Get 2 extra Membership Rewards points on ever dollar spent at Amazon.com.Get 30% off a 12-month Amazon Kindle Unlimited subscription.Spend $300 or more at Marriott Hotels in the US, get $60 backSpend $300 or more at Best Buy, get $30 back.Spend $50 or more at Walmart Online Grocery, get $10 back.Get one additional Membership Rewards point for ever dollar spent at Macy's.Spend $25 or more at buybuy Baby, get $5 back.Get one additional Membership Rewards point for ever dollar spent at Lowe's.Spend $1,500 or more at Casper mattresses, get $300 back.Get one additional Membership Rewards point for ever dollar spent at The Capital Grille steakhouses.Spend $40 or more at Etsy, get $10 back.Spend $40 or more at California Pizza Kitchen, get $10 back.Get one additional Membership Rewards point for ever dollar spent at Gap stores, including Old Navy and Banana Republic.Spend $350 or more on a Carnival Cruise, get $75 back.Get 10% back at Staples.Spend $350 or more at Gourmet Garage grocery stores, get $75 back.Spend $25 or more at Shutterfly, get $5 back.Spend $40 or more at OmahaSteaks.com, get $10 back.Spend $1,000 or more with Air France/KLM Airlines, get 20,000 bonus Membership Rewards points.Spend $40 or more at Olive Garden, get $10 back (or 1,000 bonus Membership Rewards points).$550 annual fee: Click here to learn more about the AmEx Platinum Card from Insider Picks' partner: The Points Guy.$250 annual fee: Click here to learn more about the AmEx Gold Card from Insider Picks' partner: The Points Guy.
