Abstract:Interactive Brokers enhances client offerings with a four-level options trading system, including expanded liquidity provisions and simplified routing for US equity and index options.
Interactive Brokers LLC, a significant player in the electronic trading industry, has taken a significant leap forward to enhance its offerings to clients. The brokerage has introduced a comprehensive four-level system for “Interactive Brokers Options Trading Permissions”. These four levels provide clients with choices that are better aligned with their unique options trading strategies.
The new permission structure begins with “Interactive Brokers Level 1 Options Trading”. This level allows traders to execute covered calls, an essential strategy for those seeking to offset the risk of adverse price movements in the underlying asset.
Progressing to “Interactive Brokers Level 2 Options Trading”, clients gain access to a broader array of covered options positions. This level encompasses all strategies offered in Level 1 and introduces additional ones such as long calls/puts, long straddles/strangles, and protective calls/puts, providing a greater range of risk management techniques for traders.
Next, “Interactive Brokers Level 3 Options Trading” builds upon the previous levels by permitting strategies that involve limited maximum potential loss. In addition to the options in Levels 1 and 2, this level allows for tactics such as short puts and short, long, or unbalanced butterflies, offering more advanced options for seasoned traders.
Finally, “Interactive Brokers Level 4 Options Trading” allows all options strategies. This level offers the most comprehensive suite of strategies for those looking to fully exploit the potential of options trading. Clients who previously had Full Options permissions have been automatically mapped to Level 4, while those with Limited Options are now in Level 3.
In addition to these progressive options trading levels, Interactive Brokers has also expanded its liquidity provisions with the “Interactive Brokers IBUSOPT Liquidity” offering. Clients who are trading US options can now opt to route their orders to IBUSOPT, a destination that allows participation in the retail order flow for US equity and index options.
“Routing Orders to IBUSOPT” provides traders with a valuable opportunity to potentially fill their orders against other SMART-routed marketable orders from Interactive Brokers clients, courtesy of an exchange auction. However, traders should note that there is no guarantee that orders routed to IBUSOPT will be filled, as this is subject to prevailing market conditions.
For those interested in routing a US equity or index options order to IBUSOPT from Mosaic, the process is straightforward. You need to set up your order in the Order Entry panel and then open the “Advanced” panel to select IBUSOPT as your destination. After choosing IBUSOPT, the system will display the available order types in a dropdown menu, thereby simplifying the “Interactive Brokers Advanced Options Trading” experience.
For traders who wish to stay updated on the latest news and trends in the financial world, Interactive Brokers recommends downloading and installing the WikiFX App on your smartphone. You can download the app using this link: https://www.wikifx.com/en/download.html.
In conclusion, these exciting new developments from Interactive Brokers provide traders with enhanced trading opportunities and a greater level of flexibility. This shift towards a more customizable trading experience is a testament to Interactive Brokers' commitment to continually innovate and offer the best possible services to its clients. Here's to successful trading!
