Many Americans are settling in the suburbs to avoid the rising cost of living in big cities.
Millennials, in particular, are on the hunt for suburbs that offer things like good jobs and weather.
Niche compiled a list of the 50 best American suburbs to live in for 2019.
The rising cost of living in big cities is pushing families to the suburbs.
Millennials, in particular, are on the hunt for suburbs that offer affordable homes, good jobs, and good weather. As a result, the suburbs are increasing in popularity at a rate that's more than twice as fast as their neighboring cities, according to The Wall Street Journal.
In fact, as of 2016, around 175 million Americans lived in the country's suburbs. Factors that make a suburb stand out can vary depending on a person's interests. Perks like affordable homes, good public schools, and low crime rates can make a location desirable. But with so many options and factors to weigh, it can be challenging to filter out the right suburb for you.

Niche, an American-based research company, compiled a list of the best US suburbs to live in for 2019 and ranked them according to metrics that include cost of living, school quality, crime rates, home prices, employment, and amenity access. Each factor was weighted based on available market research as well as overall relevance to the goal of the study. The influence of each factor was consistent across each suburb's ranked score.
Statistics on Niche's list are primarily from the US Census and represent the most recent data. The list measures the overall quality of living in suburban America. Some crime and safety rates were not provided.
