MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador on Wednesday repeated his view that the country's economy is doing well, saying that data showing that gross domestic product grew in the first half of 2019 was “very good news.”
A preliminary estimate by the national statistics agency showed that Mexico narrowly avoided slipping into recession during the first half of 2019 as gross domestic product grew by a fraction during the second quarter.
