How is he trapped?
A victim in Hyderabad, India, was normally browsing the internet. While browsing, he came across an advertisement for '500 and '200 notes with the digits 786.
The victim showed interest in the advertisement and contacted the number given there. On the other side, the fraudster promised the victim an adequate payment in exchange for the notes with the fancy digits.
The scammers requested a copy of his Aadhaar card. With this, they asked him to pay transaction fees. The victim was following the scammer's instructions and sent 3,177.72 Rs. to them. Believing the money he is paying would be returned.
